Residencies

Liz Niven has more than 20 years experience as a creative writing tutor. She is regularly invited to undertake residencies, short and longer term in schools and in the adult community.

These have been hosted by the Scottish Poetry Library, Scottish Book Trust and the Poetry Society of London as well as individual Education, Arts teams and City Councils, Scottish National Gallery, Historic Scotland. 

As Poet-in-Residence at Inverness Airport, Liz travelled to Barra, Benbecula, Wick, Orkney, Shetland, Islay, Stornoway and Tiree.The Residency was funded by Highlands and Islands Ltd. www.hial.org.uk as part of their Gateway Arts Project. Liz flew with British Airways and their subsidiary, Loganair.

A documentary of the Residency, entitled ‘Poet on a Plane’, was filmed for ITV by Hopscotch Films www.hopscotchfilms.co.uk

Liz Niven is available for writing residencies for both young people and for adult groups. She also provides collaborative text and image making workshops with various artists.
